Nigerian singer and producer, Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has commented on being compared to the singer Portable.
The Controversial Portable, who came into the limelight after his song with Olamide & Poco Lee titled “Zazuu’ became a smash tune, has constantly been in the news since then, majorly on controversial grounds.
Due to their similar personalities, Portable has constantly been compared to Terry G, and in a recent interview with Punch, the Akpako master decided to address the situation.
Asked how he felt being compared to Portable, Terry G stated that the comparison is a good thing for Portable, even though they have no similarities whatsoever, whether musically or intellectually. He said:
It is a good thing. I love Portable so much. Despite the fact that I did the ‘crazy genre’ of music, it does not mean that somebody else cannot be inspired and still unique. He is quite unique. There is nothing he has that can be compared to mine, musically and intellectually. I feel nobody should shut him out. He cannot be stopped. If he stops talking, what else will happen? That is his style. It (controversies) did not just start from me. It started with different guys that represented the streets, and it will still continue. It is normal.
The singer in the interview went on to state that they (he and portable) might be making music soon, as they’ve met twice already.
