Out now on various digital streaming platforms, “Labadi” is a lush scenery-influenced party anthem produced by Coublon (producer of the hit song “Non-Living Things”) and features Ghanaian silky crooner and frequent collaborator, King Promise. King Sark is in a celebratory mood on the track, rapping with his signature panache while rallying the beautiful people around him to a celebration of life.
“Labadi” is a mid-tempo blend of Afrobeats and Amapiano (log drumz) genres, creating the right vibes to get the party started and rightly so, sets the tone for the sonic feels Sarkodie hinted “Jamz” will be exploring. The official music video for “Labadi” is out now as the audio goes live on all digital streaming platforms.
According to Sarkodie, “Labadi is a gateway song… fun times with loved ones. I was inspired by the idea of a boat party with some good people taking time off to enjoy life on the ocean.” “I want the fans to be in a happy place when listening to this record. The melodies in the song are intended to bring out the positive vibrations in us. You just have to put all your worries away for a second and enjoy Labadi,” he explains.
Sark reiterates, “Jamz album will sound like listening to your favourite DJ’s playlist on the radio, club, party or any fun event – back-to-back bangers, non-stop. Creatively, I’m at a happy place enjoying life with the people I love and that creeps into my writing.”
