Nigerian Entertainment News: X User Criticizes Burna Boy for Silence During National Protest
A Nigerian user on X expressed strong disapproval of Afrobeat star Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, for not speaking out during a nationwide protest against hunger
Omo Anifowose previously reported that Nigerians planned a protest to express their discontent with poor governance and rising food prices
While some Nigerian celebrities have voiced their opinions, others have stayed silent. A concerned social media user took to Elon Musk’s platform, X, to question why Burna Boy has not utilized his influence to support the youth.
The frustrated user, identified as Gideon, suggested that Burna Boy’s silence is disappointing and implied that the artist may only address these issues in his music after the protest has concluded, as he has done in the past.
“Burnaboy won’t say anything now. He’s waiting for thugs and government-sponsored police to unalive Nigerians so he’ll enter the studio and sing.
Dem killi killi my people. If you like abus3 your father thinking you’re abusing me. Someone is using your pains to get streams AFTER every Tragic event but won’t speak when the process is on. Last to talk, First to sing. Later him feelings go dey swing like Jangolova.”
