Nigerian Entertainment News: Tiwa Savage Explains How Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy Maintain Their Influence
Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, Tiwa Savage, has shed light on the significance of building authentic relationships with fans in the music industry
During a recent interview on the Shopping The Sneakers podcast, Tiwa emphasized how these connections allow fans to resonate deeply with an artist’s music, lifestyle, and overall image.
Speaking about her contemporaries in the Afrobeats genre—Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy—she highlighted their ability to remain at the forefront of the industry through consistent fan engagement.
According to Tiwa, being a successful artist transcends just producing hit songs; it also involves staying fashion-conscious and relatable to one’s audience.
In her words:
“It’s not just about the music; it’s your fanbase and your brand. You’ve to think of your fashion. You’ve to be relatable. A lot of times, artists are just putting out music; they are not really connecting with the fans.
She went on to stress that building a solid fanbase is crucial for long-term success.
“I think it’s really important to connect with the fans. If you look at Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy, they have established relationships with their fanbases. They love their lifestyles. Whether they are dropping a song or not, they are in the conversation. So it’s really important to build a fanbase. You are only good as strong as your team,” Tiwa Savage added.
