Speed Darlington, the outspoken Nigerian rapper, has reemerged on social media following his release from custody
According to reports by Omo Anifowose Entertainment, Speed Darlington was detained in Owerri, Imo State, during a performance shortly after his previous release.
He spent roughly two months in detention before being freed on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
A Federal High Court in Abuja granted the rapper a N20 million bail on January 16, with the condition of providing one surety of the same value. This ruling was made by Justice Ekerete Akpan after Speed Darlington’s lawyer, Marshall Abubakar, filed a request for bail.
In a recent update, his attorney confirmed the rapper’s release.
After his release, Speed Darlington returned to social media with a cryptic voice recording. He posted images of bulls and referred to himself as “Akpi,” explaining that when bulls clash, one may retreat, not out of fear, but to regain strength and return even more powerful.
This has sparked curiosity among social media users, prompting questions about the meaning behind his post, considering the circumstances surrounding his recent arrest.
