Nigerian Entertainment News: Skales Reveals He Penned Several Hit Songs for Wizkid
Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, widely known as Skales, has disclosed that he was behind the creation of multiple hit songs for his fellow artist, Ayodeji Balogun, more popularly called Wizkid, during their time together at Empire Mates Entertainment (EME), a renowned record label
Speaking on the show *Curiosity Made Me Ask*, hosted by content creator Bae U the Barbie, Skales revealed that he co-authored several tracks on Wizkid’s debut album *Super Star*, including the bonus song ‘Wiz Party.’
During the interview, Skales also admitted that Wizkid reciprocated by writing songs for him, notably the hit track ‘Mukulu.’
In his own words:
“Back in EME, we were a team so we used to write songs for each other. I wrote songs for Wizkid. He also wrote songs for me, too.“He wrote ‘Mukulu’ for me and I wrote his song ‘Wiz Party.’ As I said, EME was a collective, so we did teamwork.”
Wizkid and Skales were among the pioneering artists signed to Empire Mates Entertainment, which was owned by R&B singer and music executive Banky W, in the early 2010s.
Eventually, both artists parted ways with the label following disagreements with Banky W. In an interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu a few years back, Banky W revealed that Wizkid still owed the label three albums as per the original terms of his contract with EME.
