Nigerian Entertainment News: “Shallipopi’s Album is for Yahoo Boys and Weed Smokers” – Daniel Regha Gives Reviews
Daniel Regha, a polarizing presence on Twitter, shared his impressions regarding the inaugural album of Shallipopi, the Nigerian music artist
In a contentious tweet, Regha voiced his belief that the intended audience for Shallipopi’s debut album, “Presido La Pluto,” comprised individuals involved in online fraud and those who partake in smoking marijuana.
While acknowledging the album’s commendable rhythms, Regha didn’t mince words when labeling the lyrical content as “a complete zero.”
He drew attention to the alleged lack of originality in the track “Iyo,” asserting that it borrowed from Shallipopi’s “Itendo” and Fabo Mo’s “Itendo.”
Despite his critical stance, Regha found solace in his preference for the song “Jungle.” Softening his tone, he concluded his Twitter outburst with a mild disclaimer, stating that his remarks were purely his personal viewpoint, despite their critical nature.
“Shallipopi’s debut album (Presido La Pluto) is a 1/10; The album is made for yahoo boys & weed smokers. The beats were very catchy, but lyrically speaking the songs are a zero.
Furthermore, in the track “lyo”, he kinda sampled “Itendo”, a song by Fabomo who’s another popular Edo artiste. The only manageable track off the album is Jungle. No offense.”
