Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Rema, born Divine Ikubor, has become the subject of controversy on X (formerly known as Twitter) after a user accused him of sampling an Indian track in his latest release, ‘Azaman.’
The uproar began when the user posted a video comparing Rema’s song to the Indian track “Chudaka Chudaka,” highlighting the striking similarities between the two.
“Azaman,” featured on Rema’s sophomore studio album HEIS, has garnered significant acclaim, but the allegations of sampling have ignited heated discussions across social media.
The user emphasized that the melody in “Azaman” closely resembles the Indian song, a comparison that gained further traction with an Instagram video juxtaposing the two tracks.
