Nigerian Entertainment News: Olamide Talks About Quitting Music and the Inspiration Behind His Latest EP, Ikigai

His newest EP, Ikigai, has seen considerable success, with standout tracks like Hello Habibi and Metaverse gaining significant attention.
In a recent interview, Olamide shared insights about his latest album and the motivations behind it after a nearly four-year hiatus from the music scene.
His preceding album, Carpe Diem, was released in 2020.
During a conversation with Too Xclusive, Olamide revealed that he almost exited the music industry to focus more on songwriting.
The Nigerian star admitted that he considered leaving his music career behind to devote himself entirely to songwriting.
However, after much contemplation and introspection, he realized he could not stop making music, as it felt essential to his sense of purpose.
Olamide also elaborated on the inspiration for the name of his latest project, Ikigai, a Japanese concept that means living a life of purpose.
