The highly awaited 17th edition of The Headies, Nigeria’s leading music awards ceremony, has stirred excitement in the entertainment world following the announcement of this year’s nominees.

Taking the lead in nominations is boundary-pushing rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, widely recognized as Odumodublvck, who dominates with an impressive five nods.

Following closely are Afrobeats star Ayra Starr and street-hop sensation Shallipopi, each securing three nominations.

Odumodublvck’s adaptability is evident, especially in the fiercely contested Best Collaboration category, where he appears twice, going head-to-head with industry titans like Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Zlatan, Asa, and Chike.

One of the most heartfelt moments of this year’s nominations is the posthumous acknowledgment of Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad. Despite his untimely passing on September 12, 2023, his musical legacy remains strong, earning him three nominations.

As always, The Headies continues to spotlight excellence in Nigerian entertainment news, revealing a list of hotly contested categories, including Producer of the Year, Best Recording of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Best R&B Single, Rookie of the Year, Best Rap Single, Best Vocal Performance (Female), Music Video of the Year, and Best Collaboration.

With the nominations fueling anticipation, music lovers eagerly await the grand ceremony, where the crème de la crème of Nigeria’s music industry will be honored.
