This decision was handed down today, November 6, by a Magistrate court located in Yaba, which specified a bail amount of N20 million along with the requirement of three reputable guarantors.
As part of the bail terms, the court stipulated the surrender of their international passports and mandated their presence at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on a weekly basis.
Additionally, they are obliged to provide three sureties, each with an equivalent sum.
The presiding magistrate also issued a stern caution that any attempts to establish direct contact with her would be documented and potentially disclosed during public court proceedings.
This development traces back to the accusations against Naira Marley and Sam Larry for their alleged involvement in the physical assault of the late singer Mohbad.
These accusations led to their initial detainment by the police upon their return to Nigeria.
On October 4, 2023, the Magistrate Court in Yaba, Lagos State, remanded them in custody on charges of bullying the deceased former Marlian Music signee, Mohbad.
In a recent turn of events, Naira Marley and Sam Larry took legal action against the Magistrate and the police for their continued detention.
They initiated a lawsuit in the Federal High Court in Lagos, naming the police and magistrate as defendants, and are seeking damages of N20 million each.
