On January 7, 2025, Carter Efe, whose real name is Odahohwo Joseph Efe, posted the unsettling message on his official Twitter account:

“Might leave this earth January 10th 💔.”

Renowned Nigerian blogger, Tunde Ednut, urged those close to Carter to check on him, emphasizing that the post might be a cry for help. He wrote:

“I don’t even know when to take Carter serious anymore. But in case this is not a joke, if you know him, please check up on him for us.”

Carter Efe, widely recognized for his controversial but humorous presence on social media, has faced criticism in the past for his unwavering admiration of Nigerian music icon Wizkid. Despite the backlash, he enjoys a significant fanbase.
