Nigerian Entertainment News: Mayorkun’s Stolen Jewelry Recovered in Calabar – Iyanya Provides Updates
Mayorkun’s stolen accessory, taken during his Calabar performance, has been reclaimed, as reported by Nigerian artist Iyanya
Earlier today, Mayorkun expressed on Twitter his reluctance to return to the state, describing his ordeal as “hellish and a nightmare.”
Sources indicate that the singer’s jewelry and necklace were snatched during the crowd’s enthusiastic rush toward him.
Responding to Mayorkun’s tweet, Iyanya appealed to his fellow natives, urging the return of the pilfered item. The Cross River indigenous artist and Kukere musician hinted at a similar incident befalling one of his colleagues during the event.
Shortly after Iyanya’s tweet, one of Mayorkun’s pieces of jewelry was restored to the hotel where he had stayed.
Iyanya implored the Calabar locals to return the second necklace while expressing gratitude for the retrieval of the first one.
He tweeted,
“Thank you the guy who brought this back this morning to THE GRAND HOTEL CALABAR.
Just returned now is 1 of 2 of @Mayorkun jewelry. We have one more to go, my brothers if you have the second one please help us return it.”.
“This one has still not been found, please check around, I’m sure we have it somewhere, and will please return the second one to our brother before he leaves Calabar. Just get Grand Hotel Calabar and drop it there, there’s a reward waiting for you on arrival.”*
