Powdrell had taken Adesanya to court, demanding a portion of his estimated $15 million fortune accumulated from his successful UFC career.

According to reports, Adesanya’s mother, Taiwo Adesanya, has managed his finances from the start of his career, leaving his legally documented net worth at “zero.” As a result, the court ruled that Adesanya holds no personal assets.
In a twist of fate, rather than being awarded a share of Adesanya’s wealth, Powdrell was allegedly ordered to pay him $500,000. The ruling stated that she must split her $1 million assets evenly with the UFC star.
The situation has drawn comparisons to the “Harkimized” strategy, a term inspired by Moroccan footballer Achraf Hakimi, who safeguarded his wealth by registering his assets under his mother’s name, preventing his ex-wife from claiming financial entitlements.
This tactic has fueled widespread debate across social media platforms, with discussions centering on its legality and ethical implications in high-profile relationships.
Legal analysts, however, have questioned the court’s ruling, expressing doubt over how a financial judgment could be issued against someone officially recorded as having no assets, particularly given that Adesanya and Powdrell were neither married nor had children.
