Nigerian Entertainment News: “Even if I Stop Singing Today, My Name will Still be in Afrobeats Hall of Fame” – Rema Toots his Horn
Renowned Afrobeats sensation Rema recently expressed his belief in an assured spot within the Afrobeats Hall of Fame, despite contemplating an exit from the music industry
Rema, who dazzled the audience with his exceptional performance at the prestigious 2023 Ballon D’Or, shared his intentions to step back from the music scene, emphasizing that his legacy in Afrobeats would persist.
“I’m not saying I want to stop. But if I say I want to stop right now, my name is still going to be on the Afrobeats bible, if there is an Afrobeats bible to be dropped. I’ll literally be in the New Testament, on the front page,”
Rema confidently stated.
He warmly recollected the initial skepticism he encountered from both fans and critics when he first rose to prominence in 2019, owing to the Bollywood-inspired elements in his music.
“Everything they doubted, everything they laughed at me for, I built on it. They called me Indian Boy; I went to India. I’m the first artist to shut down four cities in India, 5000 capacity and above. No one can deny that I’ve impacted Afrobeats on a global scale,” he added.
