Nigerian Entertainment News: Edo Assembly Ousts Natasha Osawaru, 2Baba’s Alleged Girlfriend, from Leadership Role
In a major shake-up within the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Natasha Osawaru Irobosa — a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and rumored romantic interest of celebrated Nigerian music icon 2Baba (formerly 2Face Idibia) — has been removed from her position as Minority Leader
The reorganization extended to other PDP heavyweights, as Hon. Charity Aiguobarueghian, the former Majority Leader, and Hon. Yekini Idaiye, previously the Chief Whip, were also stripped of their leadership posts.
Despite the internal party changes, PDP legislators Hon. Blessing Agbebaku and Maria Edeko retain their roles as Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively.
This political realignment comes in the wake of four PDP representatives defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC), a move that cost the PDP its majority control in the chamber.
Announcing the new leadership lineup, Speaker Agbebaku revealed that Hon. Ibhamawu Jonathan Aigbokhan (APC – Esan West) will serve as the new Majority Leader, while Hon. Addeh Emakhu Isibor (APC – Esan North-East I) and Hon. Lecky Hussein Mustapha (APC – Etsako West I) have been named Deputy Majority Leader and Chief Whip, respectively.
The PDP is expected to nominate fresh candidates for the vacant leadership roles, although the top positions of Speaker and Deputy Speaker remain untouched.
