American Entertainment News: Diddy Submits Third Bail Request in his Sex Trafficking Case
Two weeks after Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ arrest, his legal team is preparing to submit a third request for his release
According to court filings accessed by People on Monday, Alexandra Shapiro, a member of Combs’ defense, filed a notice of appeal after previous attempts for bail were denied twice.
The music icon was taken into custody on September 16 at a Manhattan hotel. The next day, a detailed 14-page document outlining the accusations surfaced.
Combs is accused of organizing several extravagant “freak offs,” which prosecutors described as elaborate sex shows. He also faces allegations of drugging and sexually abusing victims.
On September 18, his second bail request was rejected, and he remains held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.
Magistrate Judge Robyn F. Tarnofsky, who denied bail, voiced concerns over Combs’ suspected substance abuse and anger issues, stating she didn’t trust him not to pose a danger to others.
Meanwhile, Combs, who has pleaded not guilty to all charges, was recently removed from suicide watch, according to People. Sources also reported that his family had visited him in prison.
“He is focused and very strong,” a lawyer for Combs told People. “He is concentrating on his defense and preparing for his trial.”
Combs’ next court appearance is scheduled for October 9.
American Entertainment News continues to follow developments in the case.
