On February 28, 2025, the artist addressed the issue through a freestyle video shared on his Instagram story, taking a swipe at Sophia for reacting to his decision not to purchase the luxury car for her.

In the video, he rapped:

“No do no do, no do no do. If you no get me, forget about it.

“I no buy Lambo, is that why you are shouting? Where dem dey? I no dey see dem at all”

The controversy heated up on February 27, 2025, after a leaked voice note from Sophia Egbueje surfaced online.

In the recording, Sophia shared how her friend, Ama Reginald, and Burna Boy’s associate, Manny, encouraged her to reach out to the artist, who supposedly promised her a Lamborghini.

“She’s like, ‘Babe, you should take him seriously. You know it’s him that bought Stefflon Don a Cullinan. He actually spends on girls. Just try and take him seriously,’” Sophia recounted in part.

However, she claimed Burna Boy did not keep his word about the luxury vehicle after their alleged intimate encounter.

The leaked voice notes triggered a wave of online discussions, sparking debates about social climbing and transactional relationships.

Nigerian Entertainment News has been buzzing with reactions to the situation as both sides weigh in. Watch the full video for more updates.
