Nigerian Entertainment News: Bobrisky Moved to Kirikiri Prison
Recent updates reveal that the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) has transferred the controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, from Ikoyi Correctional Centre to Kirikiri Prison
Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison for defacing the Naira.
Contrary to common belief, Bobrisky is presently not held at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility.
As per LEADERSHIP, the well-known cross-dresser is currently incarcerated at Kirikiri Prison and was discreetly moved there last weekend.
An official stated, “It is procedural that he is moved to Kirikiri since it is an expansive prison compared to what we have here.”
He further mentioned that Okuneye was covertly transferred to ensure security during his sentence.
Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos handed down the six-month imprisonment.
During the sentencing on Friday, April 12, 2024, the judge emphasized that the verdict would deter others from mishandling and damaging the naira.
Bobrisky is being recognized as male based on court testimony last week and reports confirm no alteration in gender or anatomy.
The source confirmed the convict’s placement in the male cell alongside other inmates, stating, “and so he will be treated as a normal inmate,” he said.
