Nigerian Entertainment News: Bobrisky Dominates Nigeria’s Google Search Trends in 2024
On Tuesday, Google unveiled its 2024 Year in Search for Nigeria, highlighting the top search topics that captured the nation’s curiosity
These included the U.S. elections, Nigeria’s updated national anthem, and the national power grid.
The annual review sheds light on the most frequently searched subjects across various categories, including influential personalities, music, movies, TV shows, and general queries that resonated with Nigerians.
“This year’s search trends in Nigeria reveal an ongoing focus on the country’s political and economic developments, with the U.S. elections, the new national anthem, and the national grid ranking highest in the news category,” Google explained.
In the personalities category, Bobrisky stood out as the most searched individual, underscoring Nigerians’ keen interest in notable figures. The music scene also saw increased attention, with artists like Shallipopi and Khaid making significant waves.
The top song of the year was “I Don’t Care” by Boy Spyce, followed by Ayra Starr’s hits “Ozeba” and “Commas.” In the lyrics category, the most searched were “Ogechi,” “Ozeba,” and Chandler Moore’s “Omemma.”
Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade, Google West Africa’s Communications and Public Affairs Manager, provided deeper insights into the findings, emphasizing the trends that defined this year’s Nigerian Entertainment News.
