Nigerian Entertainment News: Bobrisky Considers Su!cide Amid Alleged N15m Bribery Scandal
Nigerian internet sensation and cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has shared distressing thoughts of suicide following allegations that he offered a N15 million bribe
Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, a renowned activist and social media personality, recently released an audio clip in which Bobrisky allegedly proposed a N15 million bribe to officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The bribe was supposedly intended to influence the dismissal of money laundering charges against him and to avoid a potential jail term at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos.
Bobrisky has categorically denied the bribery allegations, calling the audio fake. However, in a heartfelt post on Facebook, he admitted that he is contemplating suicide due to the relentless attacks on his character.
In his post, he wrote:
“I have never in my life thought about suicide in my life but now is coming to my head seeing what human being are doing to their fellow human just in the name you want to bring them down by force or because you don’t like them.
“I don’t need no sympathy from anyone. People I might have need sympathy from are my late parent. But who will fight for you? Friends? Haters you won.”
Meanwhile, the controversy deepens as VeryDarkMan claims to have more damaging evidence against Bobrisky. This comes after releasing the voice note where Bobrisky allegedly admitted to serving a six-month sentence for currency abuse at a private residence.
VeryDarkMan also addressed rumors regarding his stance on the notable human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria. He clarified that he never sought to tarnish Falana’s reputation, as some online discussions have suggested.
In an Instagram post, VeryDarkMan stated:
“Now, let me tell you something even more interesting. I have another voice note to post, which I will share tomorrow, and it’s from a different person,”
VeryDarkMan stated in an Instagram post.
“I want a thorough investigation into this matter because the EFCC was mentioned, the Comptroller General of Prisons was named, as well as Uncle Femi Falana and Falz. A deep investigation will reveal everything.”
This development comes after Falana publicly denied any association with Bobrisky and issued a 24-hour ultimatum for VeryDarkMan to retract his statements linking him to the cross-dresser.
In a letter from Falana’s legal team, they demanded a public retraction and apology from VeryDarkMan for falsely linking him to the case.
The initial uproar began when VeryDarkMan shared an audio clip where Bobrisky claimed that after his conviction for naira abuse in April, his godfather, along with the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, arranged for him to serve his six-month term in a private apartment.
Bobrisky also reportedly claimed that rapper Falz and his father, Falana, approached him, offering to help secure a federal pardon for N10 million.
However, in the legal response demanding a retraction, Falana’s team stated:
“We categorically assert that our client (Falana) has never, at any time, spoken to Bobrisky concerning a pardon or any other issue.”
VeryDarkMan has since defended his comments, clarifying that he did not accuse Falana of wrongdoing but merely raised questions about the lawyer’s possible involvement.
