Nigerian Entertainment Blog: “He Has Joined Them at the upper chamber, Illuminati”- Omah Lay stirs reactions as he distances himself from religion
In a recent interview, Nigerian Entertainment Blog delved into Omah Lay’s background, where he shared his upbringing within a Christian setting and a phase in his life when he contemplated embracing Islam
Omah Lay, the Nigerian musician, sparked an online buzz by revealing his disinterest in religious matters in a recent conversation.
The singer behind the hit ‘Damn’ confessed that he used to be deeply religious before achieving fame and fortune, but he has since moved away from religious practices.
Omah Lay recounted his upbringing in a Christian milieu and the moment he contemplated a switch to Islam. He’s now non-religious, choosing to prioritize humanity over religious affiliations.
While he maintains reverence for a higher power and acknowledges the divine presence, he no longer derives enjoyment from religious practices.
To support his stance, he argued that there’s no conclusive evidence attributing the holy scriptures to a divine source or any other author
“I think as soon as I made money I just switched, I just believed in God and respected God and became more human than religion, I just don’t enjoy religion anymore. I grew up in a Christian home, I spent a lot of time in church, and at some point, I was going to convert to Islam but now I’m at the point where it’s just me and God, no religion.”

This proves that Many Nigerians are religious because of poverty and not because they really love God.
