Mayorkun talks about his relationship status and future collaborations

Nigerian music sensation Mayorkun recently engaged in a candid conversation with Cool FM, where he opened up about his unique music style.

Conducted by former Big Brother housemate Tacha, the interview shed light on Mayorkun’s Afro-Fusion approach and his inspiration from fellow artist Burna Boy.

Mayorkun elaborated on his music style, emphasising that he identifies as an Afro-Fusion artist. He expressed that this label reflects his belief that he can create songs spanning various genres while maintaining an ‘Afro’ core.

During the interview, Mayorkun hinted at exciting future collaborations, revealing that he’ll be working with artists like Fireboy DML, King Promise, Joeboy, and Shallipopi.

He seems to be drawing inspiration from Burna Boy, who is known for fusing Afro-Africanness with diverse musical styles and has publicly stated so. Mayorkun showcased his own commitment to infusing his African roots into his music.
