Kodak Black Arrested In Florida On Charges Of Possession, Trafficking Oxycodone
Kodak Black had $75,000 cash, an expired license, and vehicle registration.
Kodak Black has been arrested during a traffic stop in Florida, according to a report from TMZ.
The “Tunnel Vision” rapper, whose real name is Bill K. Kapri (born Dieuson Octave), was arrested Friday (July 15) in Fort Lauderdale. He was driving a purple Dodge Durango when Florida Highway Patrol spotted the car with window tints, “which appeared to be darker than the legal limit,” police said in a news release. It was also discovered during a records check that his license and vehicle registration were expired.
Upon searching the automobile, police found nearly $75,000 in cash and a small clear bag that contained 31 white tablets of oxycodone, which is a type of opioid drug that treats pain and can become highly addictive.
He was booked on 2 charges, including possession of a controlled substance without prescription and trafficking in oxycodone, the entertainment news site reports.
The online record shows that the 25-year-old Pompano Beach, Florida native was taken to Broward County Jail, where as of press time, he is still at. Black is no stranger to legal issues and has had a litany of legal problems, including an auto theft charge when he was just in middle school and his 2019 sentencing on weapons charges.
The latter incident found him being sentenced to more than three years in prison after he pleaded guilty to knowingly making false written statements when trying to acquire firearms from a federally licensed firearms dealer.
He served about half the term before his sentence was commuted by former President Donald Trump before he left office.
On his last day in office, Trump called the “No Flockin’” rapper, who has sold more than 30 million singles since 2014, a “prominent artist and community leader” in a statement released by the White House.
There has been no statement made by Kodak Black or his team at the time of this news brief.
