Grammy-winning Nigerian musician Tems’ manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, has revealed that when the entertainer was arrested by the Ugandan police in 2020, she led praise and worship in her cell
Recollect that in December 2020, Ugandan authorities in Kampala detained and arrested two famous Nigerian singers Omah Lay and Tems, as well as some of their team members, for infringing on COVID-19 regulations.
Awoniyi recalled the incident while appearing as a guest on the most recent episode of Menisms’ audiovisual podcast, which is hosted by Olumurewa and Michael Sonariwo.
She claimed that Tems had the inmates join in on her song.
He started;
“Entering prison, as a woman, Tems, they [prison warders] took her to the female section. I was just worried about her. I was not with her. I was just wondering what the hell is going on [with her?].”
I will come to find out that Tems conducted praise and worship in a whole prison cell. Everybody was singing with her. She took over the whole prison.”
