Court remands popular artist, Ice Prince in Ikoyi prison.
One magistrate tribunal sitting in the Ajah neighborhood of Lagos has mandated the remand of award-winning artist, Ice Prince Zamani at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre there in Lagos state.
The musician was apprehended yesterday for allegedly harrasing an officer, intimidating him and threatening to toss him in the river after he was charged for driving without license plate.
The Lagos State Police Command prosecuted the singer on a three-count charge of assault, obstructing a policeman from fulfilling his statutory duties and kidnapping.
When the counts were read to him, Prince pleaded not guilty.
The Judge, Taiwo Oyaniyi thereafter granted him bail in the aggregate of N500,000 and he is also to present the court with two responsible sureties.
The Magistrate mandated that he be remanded in the disciplinary center until he meets his bail requirement. He then adjourned further proceedings in the case till the middle of September.
