Ancelotti was reflecting on the player’s performance at the El-Classico against Barcelona on Sunday, July 24th, 2022. According to the Italian, he believes that Rudiger will perform excellently in his new role.
I’m not crazy and Antonio is very intelligent, in that position he can play. I do not want to change the couple from last year.
The German played as a centre-back during his time at Chelsea and whenever he plays for the German national team. However, Ancelloti does not want to disrupt the pairing of Eder Militao and David Alaba which won him the La Liga title and the UEFA Champions League last season.
Rudiger joined the Galacticos as a free agent from the Blues, he reportedly earns £315,000 per week after tax deduction.
