Apology Issued By Comedian AY Over ‘Small Preek’ Joke He Made About Davido During Warri Concert In The Nigerian Entertainment News Scene
Renowned comedian, Ayo Makun, widely recognized as AY, has extended his regrets to singer Davido for his “insensitive” remark during a recent Warri concert
In the course of his performance at the Warri concert, AY singled out Davido, making jest of the singer’s numerous baby mamas and humorously referring to his “small penis,” which he allegedly employs in fathering children by different women.
AY went on to assert his own virility, claiming to have a “small dick” but fathering only two children with substantial intervals between their births. He expressed astonishment at Davido’s ability to father multiple children despite his perceived inadequacy.
This commentary by AY drew sharp criticism from Davido’s fanbase, who viewed it as a tasteless intrusion into Davido’s personal life.
On Sunday, October 8, via his Instagram account, AY acknowledged Davido’s right to be aggrieved and issued a formal apology.
“I am so sorry for telling that joke the way it came out in Warri. I shouldn’t even call it a joke anymore. It wasn’t funny like it was during my tour of the US and Canada, and you have every right to be angry after seeing how the blogs used it.
Please know that it is always a learning experience for all of us in the entertainment business. I deserve any backlash or negative thoughts coming my way for the joke that was badly delivered in Warri. So, no excuses at all, my Aburo. No reason am. I remain your number one fan, and I love you, @davido”.
Davido, in the comment section, wrote: “Nothing spoil baba mi.”
