American Singer Mariah Carey Loses Bid To Trademark ‘Queen Of Christmas’
Veteran Artist, Mariah Carey’s attempt to trademark the phrase “Queen of Christmas” has been rescinded by the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board
Carey’s attempts to also lock down the rights to “Princess Christmas” and “Christmas Princess,” were also refuted.
The musician who applied for the trademarks in the month of March 2021 encountered some backlash.
The rejection came on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 just after legends like Darlene Love and musician Elizabeth Chan pushed at the filing, arguing no one should “monopolize” the word “Christmas.”
Carey had alleged in her filing that she planned to utilize the title for fragrances, lotions, nail polish, jewelry, cups, mugs, chocolate milk, and coconut water … as well as ornaments, toys, dog clothing, masks, lingerie, and sweatshirts.
