American Entertainment News: Rapper Travis Scott Faces Lawsuit Over Alleged Assault Incident
American rapper Travis Scott is being sued by a man who claims to have been severely harmed by one of Scott’s security personnel, although the rapper’s representatives have called the allegations unfounded.
Legal documents obtained by TMZ reveal that Omar Muhanna is suing Scott, asserting that on August 17, 2024, in Manhattan, a security guard working for the rapper used excessive force against him outside a concert venue where Scott was performing.
Muhanna insists he did nothing to provoke the alleged altercation, which he says led to serious, permanent injuries.
Scott was in Manhattan that day attending Fanatics Fest at the Javits Center, but Muhanna alleges that the incident took place a few blocks away.
A spokesperson for Scott has denied the allegations, claiming the rapper was dining in a restaurant at the time and had no involvement in the confrontation.
Although the lawsuit does not accuse Scott of direct involvement, it holds him accountable for hiring the security company that employed the guard. Muhanna argues that the guard had a history of violent incidents and that Scott should not have hired him.
Scott’s team has dismissed the lawsuit as meritless, while Muhanna is seeking compensation for the damages.
