Nigerian Entertainment News: Tems Responds After Davido Praised Her for Winning Best African Music Performance Award
Grammy Award-winning artist Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, took to social media to reply to Davido after he congratulated her for winning the Best African Music Performance Award
Tems, renowned for her hit track “Try Me,” claimed her second Grammy at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards on January 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, USA, despite the challenges posed by recent wildfires in the area.
The talented artist clinched the Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance with her widely-loved track “Love Me Jeje,” surpassing other notable contenders such as Yemi Alade’s “Tomorrow,” Asake’s “MMS” featuring Wizkid, Chris Brown’s collaboration with Davido and Lojay on “Sensational,” and Burna Boy’s “Higher.”
After losing out on the award to Tems, the four-time Grammy nominee Davido showed sportsmanship by sharing his congratulations to her on his verified X page.
Davido posted, “Big congratulations to my one and only 🐐! @chrisbrown! And to the Queen @temsbaby, we are all so proud of you! 💪🏾🌎⭐️”
Tems quickly acknowledged Davido’s kind words and responded with a message of gratitude.
She wrote, “Thank you so much 🙏🏿🙏🏿.”
Following the exchange, reactions poured in regarding Tems’ response to Davido, as well as her reply to Wizkid on X.
