Nigerian Entertainment News: Naira Marley Calls for Probe into Mohbad’s Wife and Others Present Before Singer’s Demise
Nigerian artist Naira Marley has appealed to the court to conduct a thorough inquiry into Omowunmi, the spouse of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, along with about 14 other individuals who were reportedly at his residence within 48 to 72 hours preceding his tragic passing
In a statement obtained by PUNCH Metro on Sunday, Naira Marley’s legal counsel, Olusola Okuwobi, disclosed that the artist made this request during a virtual testimony before Ms. T.A. Shotobi at the Coroner’s Court in Ikorodu, Lagos State, on Friday.
During the hearing, Naira Marley clarified that he was outside the country at the time of Mohbad’s passing and reiterated that he harbored no hostility toward the late singer.
The statement reads:
“Azeez Adeshina Fashola aka Naira Marley testified before the court virtually giving his precise and succinct testimony. Naira Marley testified that at the time of Mohbad’s unfortunate de.ath, he was out of the country.“He further stated that he had no animosity towards Mohbad before his death, he related the status of the contract that subsisted between his good self and the deceased.
Naira Marley urged the coroner to look away from the suspects presented by the police and social media and look into interrogating Omowunmi and the 14 others who were present at the house 48-72 hours before the unfortunate passing of the singer.”

Furthermore, Okuwobi noted that Naira Marley alleged that those who were with Mohbad during his final hours were attempting to evade accountability by circulating an old video. He emphasized that Mohbad had already apologizedfor the video and had been forgiven before his departure from the record label.
